AMERICAN FORK — October 26, 2006 — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) announced today an endorsement of the AutoNetTV™ waiting-room program to educate and entertain its members’ customers. The agreement also enables TIA to air training and industry messages to its members via the Pro Channel, which plays before and after store hours at participating AutoNetTV locations.
TIA and its members are constantly seeking ways to improve the overall customer experience at their locations. The AutoNetTV programming informs every customer about the performance, safety and cost-saving benefits of performing regular maintenance services, and needed repair services on their vehicle. The AutoNetTV team of reporters thoroughly researches each issue, drawing on facts and findings presented by the government, independent organizations, automobile manufacturers and their own knowledge and testing.
TIA has expanded its training programs and political action involvement to further promote the professionalism and interests of technicians throughout the U.S., and abroad. The AutoNetTV consumer and Pro Channels leverage TIA’s own efforts and provide a tremendous platform to reach customers while they are thinking about their vehicles, and technicians while at work.
“Subscribing to AutoNetTV is a great way for our members to show their customers that they care about their safety and long-term savings on vehicle ownership,” said Paul Fiore, TIA. “Our expertise in training and representing the tire industry’s needs are enhanced with the ability to communicate more with our members through the Pro Channel. The AutoNetTV solution is long overdue in our industry, and we’re delighted to help provide it for our members.”
Independent studies have shown customers want to learn how to take better care of their vehicles, but don’t know where to start in asking questions of their service technician. The AutoNetTV program reports on a diverse array of topics such as extended service intervals, regular maintenance services, Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS), warranty protection, trip inspections, and more.
“TIA has earned tremendous respect in the aftermarket for its ability to understand and serve the needs of its members,” said Lance Boldt, Co-founder of AutoNetTV. “We’re delighted that the association recognizes great value in our programming in addressing many needs faced by today’s operators. The independent voices of associations, like TIA, and AutoNetTV will continue to raise consumer awareness of the need to properly take care of vehicles.”
National studies have shown that 9 out of 10 vehicles have at least one maintenance or repair item that has not been performed, generally due to lack of education. AutoNetTV’s exclusive programming partnership with CBS, incorporating entertainment and news programming from America’s number one television network, fuels tremendous acceptance and credibility with viewers – as evidenced by a 98% approval rating from a female mystery-shopper survey. AutoNetTV continues to produce its own custom reporting segments, focused on helping the industry to reclaim more of the $52 Billion of maintenance services that are unperformed each year.
